Tuesday, 09 November 2021 – Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is delighted to announce Yokohama as the Official Tire Partner and BHPetrol as the Official Fuel Partner for the Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) 2021.
The much-awaited four-wheel event will be held in a doubleheader format. The season opener, Round 1 and 2 scheduled on 10 – 12 November 2021 while Round 3 and 4 are scheduled on 14 – 16 December 2021.
Same as previous, this year MCS runs the T Production (Touring Production) for production cars above 2000cc, Malaysia Touring Car (M Production) for the 1600cc modified class, Stock Production 1 (SP1) for cars 2000cc and Stock Production 2 (SP2) for cars below 1600cc.
The race format for MCS 2021 has been upgraded. From using race ballast, now switch to additional pit stop time. Meaning, Podium cars in Race 1 will have additional time added to the original pit stop window. Championship ballast still remains. Top 3 Championship leaders after Round 1 (Race 1 and 2) need to carry Championship ballast for Race 3 and 4 in Round 2.
